E2-3000M Details

The AMD E2-3000M is a mobile processor designed for budget-conscious users seeking basic computing performance with integrated graphics. Launched in December 2011, this chip belongs to the Llano family and was built on a 65 nm process, which places it firmly in the older generation of mobile CPUs. Despite its age, it remains relevant for light productivity tasks, web browsing, and media playback, particularly in entry-level laptops and netbooks from that era. Its low TDP of 65 W makes it suitable for systems where thermal and power efficiency are prioritized over raw performance.

The E2-3000M features two cores with a base clock of 100 MHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 2.13 GHz, supported by a 1066 MHz bus speed and a 65 nm manufacturing process. It includes 512 KB of L2 cache per core, totaling 1.024 MiB, and supports DDR3 800 memory through a dual-channel interface with a maximum bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s. With a 64-bit architecture and a µPGA package, the processor is compatible with Socket PLGA775 systems. The integrated Radeon HD 6380G graphics deliver basic visual performance, supporting up to two displays and offering a maximum graphics frequency of 500 MHz, though it is not suited for modern gaming or GPU-intensive workloads.

In benchmark testing, the E2-3000M achieves an overall score of 4046, placing it at #1845 out of 2060 processors, with a single-core score of 3894 (#1833) and a multicore score of 4273 (#1839). These results indicate that the processor competes with other low-end CPUs from the same period, such as Intel's Celeron B810 and AMD's Athlon II P360, but trails behind higher-performing models like the Core i3-350M and Pentium P6200. The multicore score is relatively close to the single-core performance, suggesting balanced but limited scaling across threads. It is notably outperformed by modern CPUs like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Core Ultra 9 285K, which dominate the top rankings with scores over 8,000.

The processor supports a range of technologies, including SSE, AVX2, AES-NI, and AMD-V for virtualization, along with Intel's vPro and TXT technologies. It also features EIST for power management and HT for performance optimization, though it lacks simultaneous multithreading, which limits its ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The locked multiplier restricts overclocking potential, making it a fixed-performance solution rather than a tunable one.

As of March 2026, the AMD E2-3000M is best suited for legacy systems or low-demand environments such as office work, educational computing, or media consumption. Its primary advantage lies in its integrated graphics and low power consumption, making it a viable option in systems where a discrete GPU is unnecessary. However, it is no longer competitive in modern computing environments and should be considered a historical artifact in the evolution of mobile processors.
