A6-6310 Details

The AMD A6-6310, launched in April 2014, is a mobile processor built on the Beema architecture and designed for low-power computing environments. With a 28 nm manufacturing process and a die size of 107 mm², it features 930 million transistors and is fabricated by GlobalFoundries. Despite its age, the A6-6310 remains a relevant entry in the mobile segment due to its integrated Radeon R4 graphics and 15 W TDP, making it ideal for lightweight laptops and ultra-portable systems. Its single-chip design includes four cores running at a base frequency of 1.8 GHz, with a turbo boost capability up to 2.4 GHz, though this is heavily dependent on workload and thermal conditions.

The processor supports DDR3 memory at a maximum speed of 1866 MT/s via a single-channel memory bus, offering a memory bandwidth of 14.9 GB/s. It uses the FC-BGA package and connects to the system through a PCIe 2.0 interface, which limits its expansion capabilities compared to modern platforms. The A6-6310 operates at a maximum voltage of 1.3 V and has a TJmax of 90°C, ensuring stability under sustained loads while maintaining energy efficiency. It lacks simultaneous multithreading and features a locked clock multiplier, which restricts overclocking potential.

In terms of integrated graphics, the A6-6310 includes the Radeon R4 GPU, which supports DirectX 11 and provides basic multimedia and light gaming performance. While not suitable for modern AAA titles, it handles HD video playback and casual applications efficiently. The processor supports a range of instruction sets, including AVX, SSE4.1/4.2, AES-NI, and AMD-V, enabling virtualization and encryption tasks. It also supports 3DNow! and BMI1, offering legacy compatibility and enhanced computational performance.

Benchmark data reveals the A6-6310’s position in the broader CPU landscape. It scores 4076 in the overall Passmark benchmark, placing it at #1823 out of 2060 processors, with a single-core score of 3907 (#1826) and a multicore score of 4329 (#1656). While it outperforms some modern low-power processors like the Core M 5Y10a and the Celeron 3955U, it trails behind more recent mobile CPUs such as the Core i5-460M and A10-7300. Its strongest performance category is multicore, where it ranks higher than its single-core and overall scores, suggesting better scalability in multi-threaded applications.

As of March 2026, the A6-6310 is best suited for basic productivity tasks, web browsing, and media consumption in lightweight systems. It is not competitive with modern high-performance CPUs but remains a viable option for budget devices or secondary machines where power efficiency and integrated graphics are prioritized over raw performance.
