Pentium E6800 Details

As of March 2026, the Intel Pentium E6800 remains a relic of the late 2000s, a dual-core processor launched in August 2010 as part of Intel's Pentium Dual-Core lineup. Built on the Wolfdale microarchitecture and fabricated on a 45 nm process, it represents an era when integrated graphics were optional and multi-threading was still a luxury. With a base clock of 2.66 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 2.6 GHz, the E6800 is a modest performer by modern standards, offering a single-threaded score of 4346 and a multicore score of 4344, placing it near the bottom of the current performance hierarchy. Its 2 MB of L2 cache and 64-bit architecture were competitive at the time, but today it struggles to keep pace with even entry-level modern CPUs.

The processor operates on Socket 775, supports DDR2 and DDR3 memory via a dual-channel interface, and features a TDP of 65 W, making it power-hungry for its performance level. While it lacks integrated graphics, certain motherboards with compatible chipsets can enable basic display output through the onboard Intel HD Graphics 5300, which runs at 300 MHz and supports up to three displays. The E6800 supports a wide range of instruction sets, including SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX2, AES-NI, and Intel's virtualization technologies, but its lack of SSE4.2 support limits compatibility with some modern software. Despite its age, the E6800 still holds a place in legacy systems, particularly for tasks that don't require high computational power, such as basic office work or media playback.

However, in today’s benchmark landscape, it ranks far below the top-tier processors, with an overall score of 4345 placing it at #1474 out of 2060 CPUs. For users seeking a reliable but low-cost solution for light workloads, the E6800 may still serve as a functional option, but for anything beyond that, it's firmly in the past.
