Xeon W-1370P Details

Built on Intel's Rocket Lake-S architecture and fabricated on a 14 nm process, the Xeon W-1370P is a server/workstation processor launched in May 2021. Though now over three years old, it remains relevant for professional workloads due to its robust feature set and support for ECC memory, a critical advantage in mission-critical environments. The processor features eight cores and 16 threads, thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, and operates at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz with a turbo boost up to 5.2 GHz, enabling strong single-threaded performance. It is packaged in FC-LGA1200 and requires a compatible C252 or C256 chipset, with a TDP of 125 W, indicating a focus on high performance rather than power efficiency.

The Xeon W-1370P includes a substantial cache hierarchy, with 0.076 MiB of L1 cache, 0.488 MiB of L2 cache, and a large 15.259 MiB L3 cache, which helps maintain high memory throughput for demanding applications. It supports DDR4 memory at up to 3200 MT/s via a dual-channel interface, delivering a memory bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s. The processor also supports PCIe 4.0 with 20 lanes directly from the CPU, enhancing connectivity for high-speed storage and expansion cards. Integrated into the chip is the UHD Graphics P750, which provides basic graphics capabilities and supports up to four displays, though it is not intended for gaming or intensive visual workloads.

In terms of supported technologies, the Xeon W-1370P includes a wide range of instruction sets, such as AVX, AVX2, and AVX-512, which accelerate scientific and engineering applications. It also supports advanced virtualization features like VT-x and VT-d, making it suitable for virtualized environments, and includes Intel vPro for enhanced manageability. The processor's ability to support ECC memory further solidifies its position in professional and server-grade systems where data integrity is paramount.

Benchmark results show the Xeon W-1370P scoring 6318 overall, placing it at #141 out of 2060 processors, with a single-core score of 6635 (#91) and a multicore score of 5842 (#272). While it holds a strong position in single-threaded performance, its multicore score is slightly behind some contemporary mainstream desktop and workstation processors. It outperforms many older Xeon and EPYC models but falls short of top-tier offerings like the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX or Core Ultra 9 285K. In comparison, it is slightly faster than the Xeon W-1370 but slower than the Xeon w5-2445 and Xeon E-2226G.

As of March 2026, the Xeon W-1370P remains a capable option for workstation environments requiring high single-threaded performance, ECC memory, and robust virtualization support. While it may not lead in multicore performance compared to newer processors, its combination of features, including integrated graphics and a mature platform, makes it a practical choice for professional users who prioritize stability, reliability, and compatibility over bleeding-edge performance.
