Major Story
Forza Horizon 6 has emerged as one of the most successful launches in Xbox Studios' history, breaking multiple records within its first week on the market. Approximately five million units were sold, generating gross revenue exceeding €280 million. The title achieved remarkable success on Steam, where it peaked at over 300,000 concurrent players, tripling the high score of its predecessor, Forza Horizon 5, and surpassing major titles like Halo Infinite and Age of Empires 4. While Steam accounted for 2.8 million copies sold, 51 percent of the total revenue originated from the Xbox ecosystem, with an additional three million players accessing the game via Game Pass. This commercial triumph underscores the growing prominence of the Horizon franchise within Microsoft's portfolio, particularly amidst recent restructuring at rival studio Turn 10.

The game features a detailed Japanese setting and includes over 550 vehicles, with the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 standing out as the fastest car in stock configuration, reaching speeds of up to 489 km/h. Despite its top-tier performance, it costs less in-game currency than direct competitors from Koenigsegg. To keep the community engaged, developers have introduced a new Autumn playlist featuring JDM legends such as the Honda CR-X SiR and Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec as reward vehicles. Additionally, players can unlock series rewards like the Mazda Furai and earn cars like the Aston Martin DBX through weekly challenges. As compensation for a bug in Series 1, affected players are also receiving a free 1987 Nissan Be-1.

Despite its commercial success, the game faces technical hurdles that have sparked community ingenuity. Although official hardware checks block older AMD Vega and Polaris GPUs, users have developed bypass methods using modified DLLs to run the game on legacy cards like the RX 570 at 35 to 60 fps, albeit with a risk of bans for violating terms of service. For players with newer hardware, manual PC tuning offers solutions to alleviate VRAM bottlenecks and stabilize frame rates in native WQHD resolution without requiring new equipment. Developers are currently working on technical optimizations and AI balancing to address initial issues and enhance the overall player experience.
