Under the leadership of CEO Lip-Bu Tan, the keynote focused less on surprise product reveals, as critical hardware such as the Xeon 6+ CPUs and Crescent Island GPU had already been announced prior to the event. Instead, Intel utilized the platform to emphasize its strategic advantages in agentic AI systems, demonstrating how these technologies are poised to transform various market segments.
A key highlight of the hardware unveiling is the 'Crescent Island' AI accelerator, built on the new Xe3P architecture. Distinctively, this chip utilizes up to 480 GiB of LPDDR5X memory rather than traditional HBM or GDDR, aiming to optimize deployment in standard air-cooled rack servers. Designed to support a wide variety of data formats essential for agentic AI, the accelerator is complemented by the new E835 Ethernet controller, which provides the high-speed networking infrastructure required for these compute-intensive tasks.
Expanding its reach into Edge AI and robotics, Intel introduced Series-3 processors tailored for mobile and distributed AI applications. To further accelerate adoption in this sector, the company launched the OpenVINO Physical AI Framework, designed to streamline robot deployment and integration. Combined with the Xeon 6+ CPUs optimized for high-density data center workloads, these offerings form a cohesive portfolio that underscores Intel's ambition to lead across the entire spectrum of modern computing infrastructure.
