Epic Games has announced that Fortnite will soon be available natively on Linux systems, accompanied by a preview of the new Epic Games Launcher. The release is contingent on the deployment of the overhauled Easy Anti-Cheat v2 system, which relies on Linux security features such as eBPF, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot rather than a proprietary kernel driver. As a pilot project, Fortnite will be tested first before the technology is made available to other developers, while support for the Steam Deck remains unavailable due to security limitations.
