AMD and Meta Announce Billions-Deep AI Deal with 6 GW GPU Infrastructure and Shareholding

AMD and Meta have announced a comprehensive, long-term strategic partnership focused on building a powerful and energy-efficient AI infrastructure. At the heart of the deal is the provision of up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs, integrated into custom Helios racks. These racks will also be equipped with customized EPYC processors based on the Zen-6 architecture (codenamed Venice and Verano) to ensure optimized AI performance. The collaboration also includes the use of AMD’s ROCm software platform within the Helios architecture, enhancing scalability and efficiency. Deliveries of this AI infrastructure are expected to begin in the second half of 2026, marking a crucial step in Meta’s vision to build a trillion-dollar AI infrastructure.
