Intel has released the official XeSS 3.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) on GitHub, marking a significant advancement for game developers utilizing Intel Xe graphics technology. The new SDK enables the direct integration of Multi-Frame Generation 4× into games, allowing players to select 2×, 3×, or 4× upscaling directly within the game interface without relying on driver overrides. This enhancement improves user experience and performance, giving developers greater control over how AI-based upscaling is implemented. The SDK also features improved AI models that deliver higher image quality and broader compatibility with various GPUs. However, the SDK remains Windows-only and depends on proprietary binary DLLs, limiting its availability on other operating systems. This release highlights Intel’s commitment to advancing AI-driven image enhancement technologies for gaming, while also reflecting the ongoing dominance of Windows in the gaming ecosystem.
